Jeddah Chapter Get-Together and Reactivation

The Alumni Relations Office recently hosted an Alumni Get-Together and Chapter Reactivation in Jeddah, bringing together members of the LAU alumni community for an evening of reconnection and exchange.

The gathering took place on the evening of February 5, 2026 at the Tropical Garden of the Sheraton Jeddah Hotel and formed part of LAU’s ongoing efforts to strengthen alumni engagement worldwide. One of the main objectives of the event was to officially reactivate the LAU Alumni Chapter in Jeddah, building on the contributions of alumni who have served the chapter in the past and laying the groundwork for renewed activity moving forward.

Attending from Lebanon were Gabriel Abiad, Vice President for Communication and Alumni Relations; Abdallah Al Khal, Assistant Vice President for Alumni Relations; and Ghandi Fala, Senior Director of Development - Corporate and Foundation Relations. During their visit, the delegation also held additional meetings with alumni and friends of the university, further strengthening ties with the LAU community in Jeddah.

During the gathering, a call for nominations to serve on the alumni chapter committee was made, giving all interested alumni the opportunity to step forward. Those who expressed their willingness to serve formed the new committee and subsequently agreed among themselves on their respective roles. The committee includes:

The new committee will focus on keeping the LAU alumni community in Jeddah connected and engaged through regular gatherings and initiatives throughout the year. The event also marked the beginning of a renewed phase of activity for the LAU alumni community in Jeddah.
