    Choucrallah Karam '04 joined Pricewaterhouse Coopers Dubai and has been working for the Abu Dhabi government for the past five months. He’s engaged to Jessica Estefane '04.

    Christian Kozma '04 is the general manager of Thyssenkrupp Elevators in Qatar.

     

  • Dana Shatila '03 is an assistant IT manager at Dubai Holding.

     

  • Dania Jouni '02 married Tarek Shehadeh '06 in June.

    Bachar Omar Habanjar '04 got married in July 2007 and is living with his wife in Khobar, Saudi Arabia, where he works as a key account unit manager with Ismail Ali Abu Dawood.

     

  • Batoul Bitar '04 is moving to the UAE to marry Hassan Sleiman in November 2008.

     

  • Bilal El-Husseini '00 is working for Awalnet in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, as a Western region manager. He married Layal El-Husseini in 2006.


    Leila Belbeisi '01 lives in Jordan and works at the New English School as a special needs teacher.

     

  • Abdel Rahman Sabban ‘05/MBA ’07 is a financial analyst at Zamil Industrial Investment Company in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

     

  • Abdelrahman Jihad Abdelghani '06 is a network engineer for Consolidated Construction Company in Abu Dhabi.

     

  • Ahmad Saleh Bdeir '02 is an account manager (sales) at Reuters. He’s married to Bissan El Kurdie since 2004, and they had Jana on December 21, 2006.


    In 2006, Ahmad El Halabi '04 joined Ernst & Young’s Oman office as a consultant in the Business Management Advisory Solutions service line. He was recently promoted to senior consultant, which involved relocating to the Kuwait office of the same company.

    Ahmad Hussein Hijazi '07 is enjoying his job and life as an IT manager with a company in Bangkok.

     

  • Ali Basma '00 is a media supervisor for the GCC and Levant at Zenith Media Dubai. He’s on the Bel Groupe account, which includes Kiri, La Vache Qui Rit, Regal Picon and Picon.

     

  • Annabelle Matta Kyriakos '01 is living in Saudi Arabia with husband Mario Matta and their two children—Alex, b. 2003, and Christabel, b. 2007. Annabelle is a Montessori teacher at a preschol and Mario a division manager at Sara Corporation. They travel to Beirut several times a year to visit family and friends.


    Dany Nachabe '03 launched Medilic, a business in Beirut dealing with medical and scientific laboratory supplies. Dany reports the company’s doing well despite the stagnant situation in Lebanon. He’s engaged to Dima Chaarani.

    Elissar Hamzeh '02 is pursuing a master’s degree in education. She’s also the mother of two-year-old Yasmina, and has another full-time job. She says she will try to participate in alumni events to reunite with old friends.

    Fadi Hammoud '04 has built up a career with Azadea Group, first in Lebanon, then in Qatar and currently in the UAE, where he serves as a cost and inventory manager. He’s engaged to Farah El Moussawi.

    Fady Karam '07 works with Sakr Generators. He’s also involved in a furniture-manufacturing family business that recently opened a new showroom. Fady plans to enroll in LAU’s MBA program, as he believes “LAU provides students with all the tools they need to solve problems they face in their career life.”

     

  • Farah El-Jack '06 married Karim Fakhoury '03 in June.

     

  • Georges T. Ibrahim '07 is a systems engineer for two sister companies in Lebanon, namely Algorithm and Droguerie de l’Union.


    Hadi Otrok '03 is a Ph.D. candidate in electrical and computer engineering at Concordia University, Montreal, Canada. His publications are found in IEEE and Elsevier. “My Ph.D. thesis is on ‘Intrusion Detection System (IDS)’ using game theory and mechanism design,” he writes. “Game theory is used to formally analyze the interaction between the intruder and defender where an optimal solution is found.” Those interested in Hadi’s work and whereabouts can visit his page on http://users.encs.concordia.ca/~h_otrok/.

     

  • Hassan Daaboul '00 is running his own business, Universal Tempered Glass, in Syria. He’s expecting a big expansion when new machinery comes up this year. It is already the leading architectural glass  company in Syria and Hassan is considering opening in other countries. He’s an active member of the Damascus Chapter. He’s married to Hiba Al Najjar and they have two children, Monammad and Luna.


    Haytham Afif Ghaddaf '06 is a sales section manager with Ismail Abudawood Trading Company in Saudi Arabia.

     

  • Hiba Moubayed '06 is working as a clinical pharmacist at AUB Medical Center. She married Wassim Alaya on September 1, 2007.

     

  • Hussein Mohamad Hijazi '05 moved to Sao Paulo, Brazil, where worked at a telecommunications company before switching to international trade. He’s also involved in the agriculture sector as he owns corn, soy and other plantations in Paraguay. Hussein has various projects coming up in 2008.


    Ibrahim Salame '06 is an account manager for the Middle East, North Africa, Cyprus and the GCC countries at Gen Re, a multinational reinsurance company.

    Issam Abi Nasr '05 is working at Cafe Abi Nasr as a marketing director.

    Jalal Abdel Ahad '01 was recently promoted to commercial banking officer at Fifth Third Bank with a portfolio of over $20 million.

     

  • Jamal Anwar Maadad MBA’06 works for Emirates Computer Establishment as an account manager in the Dell Business Unit (PCs, servers and storage division) focusing on the education sector. He lives in Abu Dhabi, UAE.


     

  • Amine Abi Aad '02 and Jamal Maalouf '03 announce the birth of their baby boy on August 11, 2007.


    After working for a year at Koetter Kim and Associates, Karim Fakhry ‘04 started his master of architecture (M ArchI) at Harvard University in 2005. He’s currently working on his thesis dealing with identity and memory within architecture and is expected to graduate in a year.

    Moh’d Nassrallah '05 is a PBO officer at the National Bank of Kuwait. He got married in August.

    Nadia Moussa Khalifeh '02/MBA’04 married Ziad Riad Khalifeh '02 in August. She was promoted to deputy head of Basel II Implementation at the First National Bank.

    Nina Rahal '01 is an architect for TW-2 in HighWycombe, Buckinghamshire, UK. She’s married to Philippe Lott.

     

  • Nour Abdul Hafiz Ajam '03 has been traveling around the world covering events for Fashion TV and recently got engaged.

     

  • Rita Daher '04 is an economic and sectoral research analyst at Banque Audi’s head office in downtown Beirut.

     

  • Samer Zeenni '05 is married to Roula Saleh '05. He’s a chief accountant at Oger Abu Dhabi. They visit LAU every time they come to Lebanon.


    Soha Atallah '00/MA’03 works with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization as the national project coordinator for the Market Access and Compliance for Lebanese Export project. She lives in Beirut with husband Mounir Beyhom and baby Rayan.

     

  • Wael Al Sharif '00 is the food and beverage manager at the Sheraton in Riyadh Hotel and towers, Saudi Arabia.

     

  • Since June, Wissam Kabbara '05/Pharm.D.’06 has been pursuing a one-year residency program in general pharmacy clinical practice at St. Alexius Medical Center in association with North Dakota State University in Bismarck, North Dakota. The program is accredited by the American Society of Hospital Pharmacists. Wissam plans to continue on a specialized residency program in infectious diseases or solid organ transplantation.


    Zena Al-Bawwab '06 is the public relations person at her father’s company, Rafic Bawab & Co., at the same time as she completes her MBA at LAU.

     

  • Silkor, the company founded by Lara Tarakjian '01, and her brother Oskar, has grown to include three local branches and one branch in Dubai. Silkor offers laser hair removal services, blending retail and medical services. “Competition moves very fast and not flinching is the key if you want both to make money and build a loyal customer base in emerging economies” says Lara. She has plans to launch soon in Abu Dhabi, Qatar and Kuwait.
